SPLIT CALC

FAQ

Q: What happens if my splits get cutoff while using SplitCalc Mobile?
A: The answer to this is explained on the instructions page for SplitCalc Mobile. Basically, all you need to do is send another text message with the same parameters, only with the parameter 'p2' added at the end.
Example: If you are requesting mile splits to run a 3 hour marathon, you would text "split 3 0 0 26.2 1" to 41411. This would probably get cutoff. You would then send "split 3 0 0 26.2 1 p2" to 41411. That's it!

Q: What happens if my splits get cutoff while sending my splits to my phone from the site?
A: Sending splits from the site to your phone opens a new window that confirms that your text was sent. Go back to the original window and click on the link on the right that says "Splits don't fit in one message? Click here to send the rest of your splits." It should be straightforward from there.

Q: I tried to send my splits from the site to my cell phone but I did not get them. What happened?
A: We have found that very rarely a text message request from the site will not be received by your phone for about 20-30 minutes. This may be due to a high amount of text messages being requested at one time. Again, this problem is rare as most inquiries are received immediately, but we are aware of the problem and hopefully will solve it soon. If you encounter this problem, try requesting the splits via your cell phone rather than through the site.

Q: What if my splits get cutoff even after sending only the 2nd half of splits?
A: We have found through our calculations that if your splits get cutoff, the methods explained above for receiving cut off splits should send the remaining splits. For example, you will receive all of your mile splits for a marathon, 200m splits for a 5k, and 400m splits for a 10k using the methods above. Since road racers usually want mile splits and a marathon usually is the longest road race that people run, the 5k is usually the longest event on a 200m track, and the 10k is usually the longest event on a 400m track, it looks like all possible requests will be taken care of with what we already have! Send us an email if you think we may be missing something.

Q: Did you get my email? I did not get any confirmation that you received it.
A: Yes, we don't want to send you unnecessary emails so we don't send any confirmation. Perhaps we will change our mind if we feel that it is necessary. We appreciate all feedback. If your email requires a response, we will certainly respond. It will probably take a week or so at the most for us to respond.

Use your cellphone to request and receive splits with SplitCalc Mobile!
