SPLIT CALC
Okay, so here are the instructions to request splits from you cell phone...
So you're at the track and you need to calculate some complicated splits. Use SplitCalc Mobile! Here's how:1. Pull out your cell phone.
2. Go to the screen you would normally go to for sending a text message.
3. The phone number you want to send to is: 41411
4. The message should be entered in the following format:
split [hrs] [min] [sec] [event distance] [lap distance]
Example: split 0 4 30 1500 400
This means your target time is 0 hours, 4 minutes, and 30 seconds, the event you are running is the 1500 meter run, and you want your splits every 400 meters. Get it?
5. After you press send, in a matter of seconds, you will receive a text message with your splits!
That's all there is to it. Try it out!
Don't worry. I'm not gonna sell your number or anything. I don't even look at it. It's all handled by Textmarks anyway. I'm just a guy that likes running that decided to write some code one day...
SplitCalc receives your phone number while using one or more of its services. Our use of this information is limited to the services provided by SplitCalc and as described in the Privacy Policy. We will ask for your consent before using this information for any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy for details.Other useful options...
1. Entering queries without the hours also works. For example, entering 'split 4 30 1500 400' is the same as entering 'split 0 4 30 1500 400' as in the example above.2. You may also enter the units of the event distance and split distance in miles or anything else as long as the units are the same for both. For example, to get mile splits for a marathon you can type 'split 3 30 0 26.2 1' to get splits for a target time of 3 hrs, 30 mins, 0 secs, for a 26.2 mile run and splits every 1 mile. Sometimes the splits won't fit in 1 message, which leads us to the next option.
3. You can enter any valid input followed by 'p2' to get only the second half of the inputs in case the last few splits were cutoff. For example, a valid input would be 'split 3 30 0 26.2 1 p2'
Didn't work? Check these possible errors...
1. Check the phone number that you are sending the text to. Again the number is 41411.2. Did you begin the message with the word "split"? Remember, the splitcalc split calculator must start with the word "split" as its first parameter.
3. Did you put a space between each parameter? The split calculator can only tell what the parameters are if u put a space between each of them.
4. Did you remember to send the message?
5. Have you been waiting for your response longer than 4 or 5 minutes? Sometimes, due to high traffic, the split calculator may take a few minutes to get back to you.
6. Still don't know what the problem is? Send us a message. We appreciate any questions or comments.
Remember, we don't charge you anything for the calculations but you will still be charged your regular rates by your cell phone service provider for text messages depending the specification of your plan. A monthly flat rate for texting would probably save you a lot of money if you are a regular text messager.
